Hi to you!

Canadian citizen here.

Would that be possible for me to get an exemption visa which is 2 months right now, plus a 1 month extension and then for 1 more months a border run.

If possible that would give me a stay of 4 months which is what I need for this trip.

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
As a Canadian citizen, you can obtain a 60-day visa exemption upon arrival in Thailand. After this period, you can perform a border run to receive another 60-day visa exemption, giving you a total of 120 days. If you require an extra month, you may also extend your stay by one month after the initial 60 days, resulting in a potential total of 150 days.

What's the fun in that? Go visit Singapore for a few days. Definitely worth the visit.

Who said it was fun? You implied you had to leave for a few days, I'm just stating the facts.

I didn't imply anything. But the reason we are in Thailand is for good food, great weather and fun times. I've never had to do a border run, but instead of making a chore out of it, make an experience out of it.

Yes. You could also do the visa run after 60 days cause you will get another 60 upon re-entry.

Just arrive, get a 60 day Visa Exempt entry stamp then do your border bounce to get another 60 days. No extension required to get your 120 days.
