TLDR : Answer Summary
The post asks if there are companies that allow travelers to reserve flight tickets without immediate payment, to pay only when the ticket is used. Comments clarify that no such service exists widely, but alternatives for 'proof of onward travel' are mentioned, which involve booking a legitimate ticket that can be canceled after a certain time without obligation. Specific websites such as onewayfly.com and onwardflights.com are suggested for these types of bookings.

Why are you asking? If you're looking for a ticket to provide proof of onward travel there are several sites for that, although they don't work quite the way you describe. They book a legit ticket that you can use as proof of onward travel that is good for a certain number of days before they cancel the ticket. You have no obligation or even an option to actually purchase and use it though. Costs something like $15.

No. If that was the case everybody would be doing it. At best you can probably hold a ticket for 24 or 48 hours, then you'd have to pay, or it would cancel
