Good day. I’m traveling from US to Thailand as a tourist, arriving in Bangkok approx 072025. I plan to stay for 90 days while I figure out retirement plans.
Travel plans include a round trip ticket into and out of Bangkok. Question one is whether or not my return ticket can be scheduled for day 85 or does it have to be within 60 days of arrival and then changed after the vacation stay is extended at immigration?
My second question is for the purpose of arrival. I plan to travel over the 90 days or so. For the purpose of arriving legally must I have a three month hotel booked will they allow me to enter of if I reserve a room for three days to start?
Thank you
Kurt
TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler from the US inquires about the validity of booking a return flight for the 85th day of their 90-day stay in Thailand and whether they need to show proof of long-term accommodation upon arrival. Responses suggest that while it's not common for immigration to check for onward travel, should they do so, the return ticket should align with the allowed stay duration. They can consider using a travel service for proof of onward travel. Concerning accommodation, it is acceptable to book only a few days initially instead of a three-month reservation.
