TLDR : Answer Summary
Getting antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications in Thailand is generally easy for most individuals, especially antidepressants which are often available over the counter at pharmacies. Benzodiazepines, however, require a prescription and are not as readily accessible. While generic versions like fluoxetine are available at reasonable prices, some brand-name medications may be harder to find or more expensive. It's advisable to bring your own supply of medications, along with a doctor's prescription, to avoid any legal issues or concerns over possession of medication without prescription.

No. Lexapro is available with no prescription. As an example. But anything stronger... might be difficult. But this is Thailand so shop around different local pharmacies... not the bigger ones like Boots.

Bring meds with you.

A lot of pharmacies might sell you stuff over the counter no problem, no prescription needed to buy.
But this doesn't mean it's legal to actually posess the medication without a prescription.
I'd do things by the book, just in case.
Bring your own supply with all the required documents to do so.
If your supply runs out, get a doc-appointment to get a prescription for them here in Thailand.

no, most are easy to get - and available without a prescription.
youll need to go to a big pharmacy, many of which are near hospitals.
some drugs are not available as generic (lamictal, cymbalta, wellbutrin, probably others), so they will be more expensive
others (fluoxetine for instance) are locally produced generics
benzodiazepines (ie xanax, valium, etc) and sleeping pills like zolpidem (ambien) can only be obtained by seeing a doctor at a hospital - but thats an easy process.

If it's in a doctor prescribed bottle within a valid date 📅 you good , But if it's in a ziploc bag you might have a problem lol

Most major pharmacies you can just walk in without a prescription and get whatever you want. I'm pretty sure they have this medication in one of the major pharmacies.

The actual brand name might be a problem. The generic name is more likely.

Antidepressant otc, benzos, no, need prescription
Benjamin ******
What type of medicine? Benzos are hard to get over the counter, and are prescription only. Most antidepressants (SSRIs and similar) are sold over the counter.
Might be nice if you let us know which part of Thailand you’re traveling to.

The best solution would to bring a supply of the medications to last the length of your stay
legally, required, even with prescription, to declare them on arrival-- at least I have read that.
