IMMIGRATION OFFICE CLOSURES August 2024

Immigration offices nationwide will be closed on:

Monday 12 August: Queen Mother Sirikit's Birthday

Plan accordingly.

* Land borders are open like normal during holidays.

If you have a stamp that is expiring during holidays when the immigration offices are closed and you show up at the immigration office on the very next working day you will not be fined for overstay and can get your extension like normal. But you will get an overstay stamp in your passport that says; "overstay xxx days, fine waived due to holiday/closure".

Hello

We are in need of an urgent advice and any help is highly appreciated.

My wife and I are both foreigners with Non B and Non O.

Our son was born here in Thailand (2023) and has a passport but not a Thai visa yet.

We are having an unexpected 3 days trip abroad that let us with not enough time for my son to apply for a Non O.

As our home country is entitled for Visa on Arrival (not visa exemption) for a 15 days stay what could be our choices?

Can our son be stamped to such 15 days on arrival and then do overstay? And in this case would he need to show a departure flight? Will he be stamped overstay?

I've heard there is no issue for children from countries under Visa Exemption but i am not sure about countries under Visa on Arrival.

Thank you very much for your kind help.

# Visa question regarding children under the age of 15 - for experienced users only

We are a family with 3 children under the age of 15 who are all currently on a tourist visa.

Considering getting a student/business/investor visa for parents.

Regarding the children, we were told that there is no need for a visa under the age of 15.

We have seen many opinions on the subject of the need for a valid visa for children under the age of 15. But nothing unequivocal.

Does anyone have practical experience in entering and leaving Thailand with children when the parents have a valid visa but the children under the age of 15 actually do not have a valid visa?

My Covid visa expires on 17 July which is a Sunday. I remember reading somewhere that if a visa expires on a weekend you can go on the next working day (18th July). Is that correct? Thanks I’m advance for any advice.

Hi I am at the immigration office in Bangkok looking to extend my family's 30 day visa exemptions. My understanding was that children are not charged for these extensions (my son is 3 years old) we weren't charged last time we did this, but this time the officer is insisting we pay for him as well. Can anyone confirm the situation and, if possible, provide an official government link which confirms the policy?

Travelling domestic in Thailand later this year - Koh Phangan to Chiangmai. Our childrens’ visas (age 1 and 3) will have expired. Will we have any problems at the airports? Do they ask to see passports? Thanks.
