Arrived at my apartment after the one day quarantine and negative test result. I asked at the building admin office if they need a copy of my passport for immigration. They informed me i have to go and report myself. I have a visa for 90 days. Has anyone been and done this on arrival? Or been asked to do this?

Went past Jontiem immigration and the queues are out to the carpark gate.

Update on application in Savannakhet, Laos 12 month non immi multiple entry O visa based on being married to a Thai national. Current as of 11/06/2019. Please be sure to have all your documents ready to avoid frustration & disappointment. The list of necessary documents have been mentioned on this forum enough without me having to list them again.

1. If applying on a Monday arrive early! The consulate opens its gates at 9am (not 8:30am as the sign outside the gate shows). I arrived at 6:30am & was 2nd in line.

2. All my required documents were in order & it's not necessary for your spouse to attend, however, unless you're fluent in Thai it helps in the event of unexpected questions.

3. Collection is the following day at 2pm, I arrived at 11:30am & was 6th in line. A few people learnt the lesson of arriving 'on time' on a Monday.

4. If you're missing a document, but, have an electronic copy, a print & copy shop directly across the road will print them & give you access to their Wifi connection for a reasonable cost.

5. Take a breath, this is important, anger will get you nowhere fast. I've witnessed this on several occasions.

If you have any specific questions please add a comment on this post so we can share information with everyone in the group. All the best folks, nothing has really changed except longer queues since Vientiane implemented the online appointment system.

Hi, I've tried to sort out my guardian visa this week without success (Promenada, Chiang Mai). There are always too much people in the queue in front of me and only the first 60 are served in a day. Today at 6 o'clock I would have been the 68th. I asked the first one and she has been sitting there since yesterday 2pm. Ouch. There are lots of CMU students. I don't know whether this peak is 'normal' in this season but definitely don't want to go there a day before. In fact I still have some time to get my visa. Does anyone know more about this crazy?
