Hi, I've tried to sort out my guardian visa this week without success (Promenada, Chiang Mai). There are always too much people in the queue in front of me and only the first 60 are served in a day. Today at 6 o'clock I would have been the 68th. I asked the first one and she has been sitting there since yesterday 2pm. Ouch. There are lots of CMU students. I don't know whether this peak is 'normal' in this season but definitely don't want to go there a day before. In fact I still have some time to get my visa. Does anyone know more about this crazy?

Chiang Mai is one cranky immigration office with their arbitrary rules about how many applications they'll process.

I think Chaengwattana processes more applications in a day than those people in Chiang Mai do in a week :O

Personally I think they limit them because of the big agents who "grease the wheel" and push paper for people up there. >:(

Seeing as you can apply for an extension of stay when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp, you have time to try again.

Or find a thai to sit in the queue for you all nite. I know a few friends up there who pay a thai to wait for them.

Sure, that is an option. But it's bothersome that few weeks ago we have done this (+2 other related tasks) without any fuss in a half of a day.
