Hi all. Just recieved my e visa non immigration AO visa as first part of my retirement in Thailand.

I have a couple of questions if someone can help.

I heard the immigration at airport may not accept it unless its stamped in passport? I recieved confirmation from Thai Embassy in Canberra Australia.

Second question is regarding extending it every year and what needs to be done when I do. Is it just a visit to my local immigration office like the 90 day reporting?

Thanks for your help in advance. Just want to be clear as we travel in a fortnight.

Cheers Kerry

What is the procedure for paying the overstay fine? I am leaving Thailand two days after my extension runs out. Unfortunately, I am stuck here waiting for a document to get notorized that my employer needs outside of Thailand. So it will be a few days. Where will I pay the fine in the airport? Right at the immigration desk?

Hi there, a friend from Chile, who was supposed to get 90 days just got stamped in at BKK airport for only 45 days. The immigration officer obviously overlooked the fact that Chilean citizens get 90 days. What would be the best course of action to sort this out, would an immigration office be able to fix this mistake, or should he just eat the mistake and do a border bounce within 45 days to stay 90 days?

Australian citizen. Just got out of HKT immigration at the airport, went through on an O-A which I got from the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra Australia. No issue with the visa but the officer got out his phone and took a photo of my passport photo page, the visa page and the arrival TM6. He said it was the same for all first time O-As and his boss would get the photos. Stamped the date and waved me through without any other issue. Has anyone else experienced this?

Got stopped last night at Don Muang Airport. I have several 30 day exempt stamps that I have extended in my passport. Every time we flew out for a week or so to do some travelling. This specific immigration officer was giving quite a few people a hard time by asking loads of questions as our queue moved very slowly compared to the other 2 counters. He flicked through my passport and saw my stamps and asked me for a return ticket to my home country, normally its just an onward ticket. Didn't have a ticket to my home country and he called another immigration officer who took me to a booth on the right just before you go down the stairs. The lady scanned my passport and looked on the computer and told me that I have been here for +- a year and she needs to see a return ticket to my home country. Told her I don't have one but I can buy one right now which lighted the situation. Quickly went on Skyscanner and bought a ticket to my home country (I'm anyway going home in 7 weeks) and showed her the ticket on my phone which is in 7 weeks so I will need another extension which wasn't a problem at all. She made some notes and wrote down my new flight number and stamped me in. Didn't ask for 20k or proof of address (I did have both).
