Newly updated bus times. Ekkamai to Pattaya, and Mo Chit to Pattaya (and vice versa) will be the primary image, and I'll also put Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya and Pattaya to Hua Hin in the comments.

There is a bus every hour from Ekkamai to Pattaya from 6:00-21:00. The specific times shown in the image are buses that you can purchase tickets for ahead of time from the website.

There is also a bus every hour from Pattaya to Ekkamai from 4:30-21:00 and the times shown are buses you can purchase tickets for ahead of time.

Top left is Ekkamai to Pattaya, top right is Pattaya to Ekkamai.

Bottom left is Mo Chit to Pattaya, bottom right is Pattaya to Mo Chit.

Prices are 138₿ for all routes shown in this image.

Reservations can be made www.rrcticket.com

During holidays and other busy times, there will be buses every 20-30 minutes.

Also there are almost always mini-buses (vans) going from Ekkamai to Pattaya and Pattaya to Ekkamai as well. They depart when they have enough passengers to be full.

In the UK, I have owned my car from new, it’s almost 13 years old

That breaks down to around £100 per month, add petrol/ insurance/ road tax/ maintenance/ repairs and I bet my car is costing something like £250-275 per month

For that, I get the car to go where I want and when I want and my wife has the convenience of taking herself to and from work

Having a car is not exactly a cheap commodity anymore (and will get worse as ultra low emission zones are expanded around the uk) and of course there’s the potential to add parking fees/ charges and fines

Now, imagine we have retired, and we are now settled in Thailand (most likely around Phuket but that’s still to be decided)

I expect having a car in Thailand will work out a lot cheaper than back in the UK BUT, and here’s the thing

If we want to go out once per week and explore areas an hour or two drive from here we live, would it work out cheaper and safer to hire a driver for the day as and when required as opposed to have a second hand car parked outside and hardly used? Especially if any shops/ restaurants and to some degree bars (won’t drink and drive) are all within a reasonable walking distance to our home

It's been impossible for me to find any current info on getting from the don mueang airport to Ayutthaya. I fly into there, and must head north right away. The 12goasia website is also not helpful. Does the train from Hua Lamphong stop at the airport every hour? I'm trying to avoid going into Bangkok cause that is wasted time. Any ideas? Thank you.

Could any of you recommend a visa-bounce agency from Chiang Mai to Mae Sai and back?

Also, yesterday, I was advised by the local immigration officer that it’s recommended to stay at least one night in Mae Sai as its officers are cracking down visa-bouncers -Any recent experience to comment on this, please?

Hello TVA family. Like i promised i will be back with report. Just came home from Khon Kaen Immigration office and got my proof of residency for my driving licence. First of all if someone does not have a car and choose to use public transport it is pretty straight forward. Of you arrive to Khon Kaen bus terminal go and look for the mini bus(the pick up modified to carry people). Tell them you want to go to Ban Somlan. Show the driver the Immigration office address and he will drop you exactly by the Immigration office. Go to the other side of the there is a big gate entrance. Keep left and you will see a very big red board saying IMMIGRATION OFFICE. If you already filled in the TM30 form look on the right hand side by the toilets there is a wee tiny window. B4 you hand over your docs make sure you have a copy from blue housekeeping book signed by the owner copy of the owner ID card singed as well, copy from your passport first page and your latest stamp if you are on a Non O ME and the copy of the TM 6 wee card as well( that is what they was asking from me today). Hand over your things the woman gonna double check everything. Of you going for just to register your address you will get a wee paper from the TM30 form and thats it you are done. If you need the proof of residency the woman will escort you to the head officer who is gonna ask couple of question about your relationship with your wife, how long yous are together how often you coming to visit and about the address you want to register. After he signed the TM30 form you head back to the wee window and for a 500THB fee you will get your proof of residency. B4 you pay the fee double check all the details on the proof of residency(the reason why i am saying is the woman wrote my name wrong and she put wrong dates as well). Paid the fee they put the letter in an envelop and you are done. The way back to the bus terminal again pretty easy. Stay on that side where you came out by the gate and look for any mini bus all of them heading to the bus terminal so you can catch any of them. A return ride cost 20thb.

Thanks for Todd Daniels he mentioned that in Khon Kean they arent so strangt about the things so i was not charged with the 1600thb penalty because i did not know i have to report within 24 hours if i am arrived to my wife's home so 1600 stood in our pocket and we had a nice lunch with my wife. Thanks again guys and keep up the good work.
