TLDR : Answer Summary
When preparing your business portfolio for the DTV application at the Los Angeles Consulate, include a detailed description of your business activities and sources of income. Suggestions from the community highlight the importance of honesty in presenting how your income is generated. Attach essential documents such as payment screenshots, a cover letter on company letterhead confirming your employment status, job duties, and relevant tax documents. A few users also recommended creating presentations that clearly outline your job responsibilities and displaying your work output. Consider using AI tools to help format your information clearly.
I recently got approved for my DTV visa through LA and I made a google slide pdf presentation highlighting my duties on the job and sharing screen shots of my work. Seemed to work for me.

Chatgpt is your friend. Ask it to be a LA Consultant DTV Expert. And then upload the requested information from the the embassy.
If your employed with a company something on company letterhead stating you are a employee in good standing and the type of work you do for the company by human resources or manager or owner of the company. . Include some copies of your pay stubs and any relevemt tax documents would comprise a good business portfolio for a employee

AuthenticPassionfruit644 yeah I can be honest and talk about my job for days but I have no idea what they want to see in the portfolio. I'm employed by a company.

Anonymous participant 3 sentences what the company is doing, three sentences what you are doing for the company, and 3 or 4 copies of bank statements of received payments.
If in doubt, then ask the embassy/consulate and not on FB. They ask you to provide papers: they know what papers they want.
You probably did not point out clearly that you are employed? And they have the impression you are a free lancer/self employed ...
Work portfolios are usually asked from freelancers, not from employed workers!
I went ahead and provided information about the company, in depth example of work done, info about my role in the company, services our company provides, and testimonials from clients. I hope this is enough!

Anonymous participant If you have this: "employment contract, letter from employer, business registration for the company" yes.
I did in fact point out I was employed. They also additionally asked for my employment contract, letter from employer, business registration for the company. In fact, they also asked for my statements again.
