I was approved for the multi-entry 6 month tourist visa and was sent a confirmation email. Will there be a visa stamp added to my passport when I enter Thailand in the near future?
Answer summary
When you enter Thailand with a Multi-Entry Tourist Visa (METV), you will not receive a traditional visa stamp in your passport. Instead, you will present the printed PDF visa confirmation along with your passport at immigration. You will receive an entry stamp indicating your entry date and 'admitted until' along with a stay limit of 60 days. It's essential to print out the confirmation email and bring it every time you enter Thailand.

On the entry stamp it says TR-60 and the entry date, followed by last day of stay.
I have the multi entry visa and the Immigration officer looked at me and grinned and said you have the tourist visa?so make of that what what you will.
I got the same thing and feel like it’s a waste of 200 USD. Couldn’t we have just done the normal 60+30 did a border run and did the 60+30 again? Or does the METV just make it easier?
If it's your first entries to Thailand so you have no history of visa exempt entries and extensions you will probably be given some leeway if using a METV
if you attempt to reach 6 months of holiday in Thailand by visa-exempt entries and their extensions, be AWARE that on the first visa-exempt 60 days you can get a 30 days extension, but on the second visa-exempt 60 days you will only receive a 7-days extension! And then you personal limit of visa-exempt entries within a one-year period is reached. You won't be allowed back for a third attempt before a full year period has passed
Christopher Inniss you must print out the PDF file you received together with the Email confirmation. This .pdf document is your visa and you need to present it alongside your passport every time you enter Thailand. Upon entry, you will receive a small flaglike stamp (the stay permit) with the text "admitted until" and the date of expiry in blue, 60 days away from the day you enter. And do not forget to file a new TDAC before each entry!
