Wonder if someone can advise me. I am on a "O" visa my passport expires early next year, I'm shortly returning to the UK for a holiday, if I renew my passport in the UK, will I have a problem at BKK airport when I return even if I have my old passport with my visa in it ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user on an O visa is concerned about renewal of their passport while planning to return to Thailand from the UK. Community responses confirm that carrying both the old passport with the visa and the new passport upon re-entry will prevent issues at Bangkok airport. Advice includes ensuring the correct entry stamp is received and possibly transferring the visa to the new passport at immigration.

Can you renewal 1 year before It is better to do it at the embassy in UK Bangkok and they will give you a document to go to immigration to transfer the visa to the new passport I used this system last year with my retirement visa.

Don’t forget to check that you get the correct entry stamp in your new passport according to the old one before leaving the passport control counters…

Nope you won't have any issue at all,

Show up at the airport with BOTH passports

They'll stamp you in on the new one, make a notation that you have the extension/re-entry permit in the old one and

Then you go to the immigration office where you got your extension and get the stamps moved to the new passport
