Will I face any issues re-entering Thailand after a visa run in light of a family emergency?

my apologies if I am responding to the same inquiry I posted earlier today. For some reason, I cannot find it; maybe I did hit the post.

I have a family emergency and will have to leave tomorrow for the US. I am planning to return in two weeks (hopefully). I did a visa run to Cambodia to extend my visa. I am wondering if I will encounter any issues when I return in two weeks. I imagine, that I will get another stamp upon arriving in Thailand in two weeks?

Thanks in advance for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about re-entering Thailand after a family emergency and a recent visa run to Cambodia, potentially facing issues due to multiple recent visa-exempt entries. Responses indicate that the user's entry history will be scrutinized, especially as this could be their third visa-exempt entry in a short period. Suggestions include carrying proof of sufficient funds, accommodation, and onward travel to facilitate re-entry.

No problem just go visa exempt again you are a tourist traveling

It all depends on your entry history into Thailand.

does this mean you entered visa-exempt, got stamped in for 60 days, and did a border run to Cambodia, for another 60 days? This would mean that your next visa-exempt entry in two weeks, would be the THIRD visa exempt entry within a short period. In your place I would be prepared, have plan B. You MIGHT get pulled aside and asked. Prepare, carry the THREE famous proofs: 20,000.- THB in cash (can also be equivalent in USD) , proof of booked accomodation for a few nights, and proof of onward travel within 60 days. This should ensure that you will be allowed to enter (although I can't guarant it, it depends on your stamp history and on the officer at the border)

You probably did a border bounce to Cambodia to get another 60 days visa exemption. You can’t get a re-entry permit on a visa exemption, so you’ll only get another 60 days visa exemption when you re-enter from the US.

If this is your third entry on visa exemption within a short period of time, I personally would have considered to get a visa while I was back in the states.

@Carlos ******
what Visa did you extend?

What type of visa do you have ?

@Ken **********
I guess it only has to be visa exemption. You can’t extend any visas, only apply for a new one, but he probably has extended his stay with a border bounce and another visa exemption.

Actually Jan, Visas can be extended, that's what happens annually for Non Imm O and Non Imm OA

That’s not a visa extension, but a whole new product called “Extension of Stay”, which basically is a a permission to continue your stay in Thailand, -not a visa. We’ll put a point here anyway, because that’s not OP’s question.

@Kev ********
yes they can be extended but not via a border run as he mentioned

it's most obviously the typical bad wording 🤓. . . . . He didn't use a visa, he entered visa-exempt. He didn't do a "visa run", he did a border bounce. And he didn't "renew the visa", he just got another 60-days stay permit

yes. I thought so, just wanted to verify.
