Will booking a return flight for 90 days cause issues at Thai immigration if I initially plan to stay for 60 days?

My first time I Plan to Travel from US to Thailand on 60 day & do an Extension for 90 days total.

My Question is would there be an issue if I book my return flight for 90 days instead of the regular 60 day?

Would immigration give me issues or denied entry if my return ticket is 90 days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Traveling from the US to Thailand on a 60-day visa is common, but concerns may arise when booking a return flight for 90 days. Generally, Thai immigration is lenient and likely won't ask about a return ticket at entry. However, airlines may require proof of onward travel within 60 days, and their policies can vary. It is advisable to check with your airline regarding their rules on return flights beyond the initial 60-day visa period.

Thai Immigration won't give you any issues. They only start to ask if they are looking for a way to deny entry. . . . It is the airline that CAN ask for a proof of onward travel within the 60 days you will get stamped in visa-exempt. Some airlines accept if a return ticket is within 90 days. However most airlines only acknowledge a "real" flight ticket out of Thailand within the 60 days

I’ve been coming to Thailand twice a year since 2012 I know live here in 13 years I have never been asked if I have a return ticket, and if they do tell them the truth you going to get a 30 day extension, you won’t be refused entry

It is usually your airline that will ask for proof of onward travel within 60 days so ask them what their policy is
