DTV medical-route rejection at Kuala Lumpur — looking for similar experiences
I’m a Bangladeshi citizen. My DTV application under the medical-treatment route was rejected by the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, with no reason provided.
I hold a Malaysian Dependant Pass valid until April 2027. My application included:
* A six-month treatment plan from Bangkok Hospital Phuket.
* A medical report and my next appointment in December.
* Six months of bank statements showing over THB 1 million equivalent, plus a bank solvency certificate.
* Police clearance from Bangladesh.
I previously spent around six months in Thailand receiving medical treatment. My doctor asked me to return in December for further treatment and provided the documents above. I have no history of overstay.
The application moved from “Pending Document Check” to “Pending for Approval,” then “Pending for Decision.” No additional documents or interview were requested before rejection.
Has anyone experienced something similar, particularly with the medical route at KL?
1. Was a Malaysian Dependant Pass with several months’ validity accepted as residence proof for your DTV application?
2. Could the remaining validity of my pass have been an issue, or might I need to apply from Bangladesh instead?
3. Has anyone successfully reapplied through Dhaka after a KL rejection?
I understand nobody can determine the reason without an embassy explanation. I’d appreciate firsthand experiences with similar circumstances.
