Hi there, I am a bit confused on the extension of stay. So myself and my kids are here on Ed visa them, dependent visa me. I entered Thailand at the beginning of August, did my extension of stay in October, got up to 30/06/19 not exactly one year from my first entrance, but I figured it made sense with the school year. My friend in exactly the same situation entered Thailand mid August went for his extension of stay same office, got

It until 30/10/2019 ...... can somebody explain me? Is there any logic in the extension of stay or it depends on the mood of the officer? Thanks for any info here....

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is confused about the Extension of Stay dates for their children and themselves under different applications, given that they have similar visa situations to another family. They explain that while their extension ends on 30/06/19, their friend received an extension until 30/10/19. Discussion in the comments suggest that various factors such as passport expiry dates and different application circumstances could influence the issued extensions.

As we don't seem to get the answer on the simple question till what date are you children allowed to be in Thailand and now all kind of other possibilities are maybe the problem. I close the commenting. You can start a new topic, but please show a picture of the entry stamp, admitted to stay stamp from you children's passport and your Extension of Stay.

Or it can be because the kid’s passport expired date will be
****
/19 so Immigration will only issue a visa up to that date, if your visa dependant on that child’s passport than you will get the same expired date too

ED visa is not for one year or fixed (xx months) term. It gives to student the time until the end of their program (curriculum) with which you apply...

You applied for an Extension of Stay depending on the children, you get than a matching Extension of Stay, simply said your last day is the same last day as the permitted until period of the children.

Okay, back to the beginning. You and your kids arrived in Thailand, they got an Admitted to Stay stamp until what date? There is no way to help you if you do not want to share this information.

My question is in the same exact situation my family gets effectively from the date of first entrance 11 months another family gets 15 months where is the logic in that?

And till what date are your kids allowed to stay inside Thailand? You have to look at your passport and your kids passport, passports of friends or even mine does not match or even matter.

Seems like you got a bum deal. Usually you get extended from the date of your “can stay until “ date that you got with your original entry visa.
