Can anyone who got approved in HCM share how many days passed between their "Pending Approval" and the "Approved"? I'm getting antsy. Thank you!!
Answer summary
The user is seeking information from others who have experienced the visa approval process in Ho Chi Minh City, asking specifically about the duration between the "Pending Approval" and "Approved" statuses. The comments include various discussions about dual SIM phones, banking apps, and experiences with Thai banks, which tangentially influence the main inquiry regarding visa processing timelines.

Some bank apps will only authenticate one device.. meaning if you activate it on a new device it will automatically switch off on the old device.. you need to check this with your bank.

You can download the Krungthai app only in Thailand to any phone. The Thai sim is where they text you the OTP code. They don’t have to be on a same phone.

In Thailand the owner of the SIM card needs to be in the same name as the owner of the Thai Bank account, but if you have a second Mobile you can download the app and use the second Mobile (diffrent name) for Banking too. If you do your banking on a computer, and you transfer money out of the account, the security confirmation QR code does get send to second Mobile too. This is a new regulation and will affect only people who show up in a branch ..... I have used my Thai wifes account and mine on my Mobil (SIM card) for a 10 years until the day I walked into my Kasikorn Bank and they told me to change. (call center scams have enforced strict rules)

To download the app you can change the registered country for your Apple Store. But nonetheless you will need a Thai phone number for Thai banking apps

I'm having this problem...i was told Krungsthai will not allow the app on more than one phone or location. You'll need to go in the bank with passport, bank book and both phones for them to switch it.

Banks not only use the mobile number but also register/connect to the physical mobile phone; if you change phone you have to return to the bank to setup the mobile banking app

Buy a dual SIM phone.... Problem solved. Incidentally I wrongly thought that I had to have my Thai SIM with associated number to my Kbank account in my phone to use their app in the UK., e.g. to make transfers, but you do not. It seems that you only need it in your phone to make cardless ATM withdrawals in Thailand.

Two phones seems a bit much, just use two eSIMs. Also, I would recommend asking the bank directly, they'll likely be able to provide better information than what you'll find on here

I believe you can have the thai bank app on the english phone with the english number, I know someone who has it that way. . just as long as you have a thai number on your bank account. go to the bank and they will tell you how to do it. from what I heard.

Mark Faught the bank will always send a code to the number that is registered which has to be thai for a thai bank. So your friend probably has at least a dual sim esim phone where he has a thai number and uk number on his phone so can receive these codes from uk and thai when needed. Very simple to do if you have a modern 2 sim phone

I used to have the same problem, but only worse 🙈 It annoyed me also.

I had a uk bank and uk phone. A Spanish bank and a Spanish phone. A Thai bank and a Thai phone. I ended downloading my UK and Spanish apps onto my Thai phone. Closed down my UK and Spanish phone accounts and everything is good 😁 But make sure you change the UK telephone number with your uk bank before you do.

You can only have 1 phone set up with any Thai Bank app. I have 3 Thai Bank accounts, as soon as i change my phone i had a message appear on my phone to go to my bank in person and set it up for my new phone.

However, I only have 1 phone and once it is set up it will work overseas. Mine works in Australia just fine.

what the OP doesnt tell us: Android or Apple? if android does he have 2 separate google accounts - one linked to the UK and one to thailand. he talks about apps.. therefore apps stores.. the bank apps may be geofenced requiring the correct profile to be active to access the store to get the app.

I have multiple profiles for different countries: I definitely know that i need my thai profile to download K bank and BKK bank apps and my Aus profile to get some of the stuff from Australia. but once on the phone they all work all the time as long as i have internet

If you have SIMs for both Thai and UK numbers, then you should be able to download and use all your banking (both Thai and UK) on both phones. You say you can't download your Thai banking app, but do you actually mean you can't download the app itself, or do you mean you can't use it? If the Thai bank requires you to have a Thai number on the phone to activate it, then just put your Thai SIM card in the UK phone temporarily to get it working.

I have dual eSIM AIS installed it, Japan and Thai. When in Thai, I switch to the Thai SIM.

Doing any banking from UK to Thai, Thai banks send "one time code" that has to go to a Thai mobile number. Means, switch to Thai number while the UK to receive it, roaming , from UK to Thai.

Is it not how it works?

how easy is it to change between an actual sim and an eSIM….. as it looks like I’m going to have to put my Thai number onto my English phone as an eSIM. I’ve looked at it and it says that if I import my Thai number from my Thai phone to my English phone (as an eSIM ) then it will deactivate my actual SIM card in my Thai phone . I’m worried that if it doesn’t work I end up not being able to use the banking app and therefore not be able to scan pay….
