Thailand broke up with me. 😭 they told me next time I come I have to get a Visa because come too much. They have no idea how true that is.😂😂😂
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around recent changes in Thailand's immigration policies, particularly the need for frequent visitors to acquire proper visas instead of relying on the visa exemption program. Comments highlight the importance of adhering to visa rules to avoid issues with immigration, suggesting that those who frequently visit Thailand may be considered for a long-term visa instead of being treated as casual tourists.

I had the same experience twice last year where I was held in immigration .. shouted at and not allowed to attempt to speak… I was warned Not to try to re enter Thailand in 2025 because I will be deported straight away , I was told to apply for a Non O visa otherwise I would not be allowed entry again…

I applied for the visa costing £60 I think and there was no problem

Thai immigration is applying ST rules to you ("You come, I go"). Commit or go home (make sure you pay cab fare).

So many Simps on here very desperate to Cow-Tow to Thai bureaucracy..Tragic..

I spend at least 6 months a year here Visa exempt spread over a rolling 12 months period intertwined with 5 months in VN and a month in Cambodia..

Spread your entries apart correctly and there won't be any issues

Time for everyone to stop abusing the visa exemption program and get a damned visa. If you follow the rules get a visa and the proper annual extension of stay you can live here for years with no problem what so ever.
Stephen **********
Stephen **********
Steven L. Daugherty Some abuse the visa system also - like people that use agents to fake the 800k bank balance requirement. I'm sure there are probably some fake classes being used for DTV as well. The 60 day tourist visa and metv probably have the least abuse as they have limited requirements.

They should probably start verifying the 800k at 90 day reportings.
Max ********
Max ********
Steven L. Daugherty why do you think everyone just wants to live in Thailand. What if you like your own country and also enjoy Thailand? I come as a tourist every year and would like to stay up to six months but I can’t find a visa for that period of time.
Jordan *******

Max Murray METV lets you stay for 9 months if you time the flights right.
Kadeem ********
Kadeem ********
Max Murray METV it’s a 6 month visa stays 60 days plus 30 day extension..

I know some people that stamp out and in early on their last to get the final 60 days plus an additional 90..

Almost works out that you can be here 210 days on that visa.. but theirs better choices if you qualify. Like DTV etc.
Steven ***************
Steven ***************
Max Murray there are several. DTV, METV, Elite, Non-O even an ordinary tourist visa let's you stay for 90 days. The visa exemption program never was designed for long term visits, people just kept abusing it and now they're reverting to 30 days because of it. Like I said want to stay longer get the proper visa.
Herve *********
Herve *********
Steven L. Daugherty not sure why coming to Thailand a couple ot more times a year is abusing the system. Besides, long term means long term. Not just a season or 2 a year.

Many will still abusé the system under the 30 days roll back. Costlier than before, with more reliance on go-betweens, but until T. is rid of corruption, it will do.
Max ********
Max ********
Steven L. Daugherty so with a METV can you keep getting one each year or is this not allowed?Yes an ordinary tourist visa does let you stay 90 days but that is not up to 160 or 189 days.
Bobby ********
Bobby ********
OP
Steven L. Daugherty how is it abusing the Visa free system if they let you do it. I wasn’t old enough to qualify for a retirement visa.

So you’re willing to get a visa to go to vietnam….but not to get one to go to thailand? How much sense does that make

Also PH and vietnam i would put noticeably well below thailand, maybe if you like diving or snorkeling PH is significantly better but that’s it

Bobby Fisher so that's a 180 day's and makes you tax liable....
Dante **

Jan Enthoven the tax thing is BS.

but it doesn’t matter because 90 days isn’t really 90 days, it’s more like 88. so that twice is still under 180.
