Immigration officer called my gym

A notice for everyone. I own a gym that is popular for those looking to train Muay Thai and apply for the DTV (Tiger Eye)

For the first time since the launch of the DTV we got a call from an immigration officer at the airport (not sure which airport as my staff answered the phone)asking to confirm someone's attendance.

For context, the person in question came via an agency, an agency we stopped working with because we suspect they are forging people's bank statements after I reached out to the agency incognito as a potential client.

The person was from a former Soviet bloc country.

The staff member told the immigration officer the truth that this person hasnt come in yet and it was a short matter of fact call.
Answer summary
The owner of a gym popular for training Muay Thai shared that they received a call from an immigration officer confirming the attendance of a DTV (Tiger Eye) visa applicant, who came through an agency the gym no longer works with due to suspicions of forged bank statements. The call was brief, as the gym staff informed the officer that the individual had not yet arrived.

I feel like when they first began talking about the DTV one of the stipulations was that when leaving after 180 days it must be a country that does not border Thailand. I do recall something like this. Thanks

You can border run anywhere you want. No one ever mentions it but HK is a great place to go. 2 hour flight,

Depends on where in Thailand you fly from but it’s around 3 hours, give or take a few minutes

Stuart Cumming yeah I will take your word for it but fairly short from Bangkok I have flown it quite a few times. Became one of my favorite weekend trips.

No. It’s just a term that is used by many. Technically a “visa run” is where you go to another country to apply for a visa to then re-enter, and a “border bounce” is where you leave and return for another entry.

Neither requires you to go to an actual country that borders Thailand.
