TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Thai visa while residing in Da Nang, it is generally advised to use the Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) embassy, as clarified by various comments. Users have shared experiences suggesting both embassies, but many confirm that the Ho Chi Minh City consulate is the appropriate choice based on location and better service for certain visa applications. It's important to consult the official application guidelines for specific requirements.

Not a recommendation but I stayed in HCMC and applied via Hanoi after hearing there was less rejections there but then after reading further I was worried the whole time I had just flushed 10k down the drain as on the website it States the proveniences which are allowed at each embassy north and south respective. I got approved but you can't have any complaints if you get rejected.

This is clarified when you apply. The requirement is that if you're in Da Nang, you apply using the HCMC embassy

The Thai Embassy/Thai Consulate in Vietnam will request for both selfie photo and receipt with full name or other documents for actual proof of physical location

dude. Obviously HCMC is better. You're officially required to use HCMC. If you apply through Ha Noi while in Da Nang, your application could be rejected or cancelled.

As for which is better aside from that.. they're going to be about the same.

Well, following from your Original Question/Post, if you are located in Da Nang, then there are no choices and you will submit your DTV E–Visa application to the Thai Consulate in HCMC, but if you want to submit your DTV E–Visa application to the Thai Embassy in Hanoi, then you need to go elsewhere in Vietnam that falls under the jurisdiction of the Thai Embassy in Hanoi

I stayed at Da Nang, but i used Hanoi. Theory being

1) commentary in here led me to believe Hanoi was more friendly on certain matters

2) if i was called for interview, Hanoi was closer

Approved no issues

from what I read at the time, a couple of months ago. Hanoi seem to be easier going with bank statements I think it was than HCMC.

same, but I really wouldn’t recommend anyone else doing it. Technically a reason for rejection

It clearly states on the application form. But anyway, it’s Saigon.
