Can I use a bank statement confirming my term deposits to apply for a Thai visa instead of an account statement?

Hi. I'm from Poland and want to apply through the embassy in Warsaw. I have a question: can I use a bank statement confirming my 500,000 TBH account balance instead of a statement? I have the money in term deposits, and they don't appear on my statement.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among commenters is that term deposits are generally not acceptable to prove the required bank balance for a Thai visa application. It is advised to show the funds in an immediately accessible bank account instead. To get the most accurate information, contacting the Thai embassy in Warsaw directly is recommended.

It'd easier and better if you send a mail to the embassy or you call them. In my opinion that won't be acc but you better check with them

Nie mozesz. Musi byc pokazane na normalnym koncie. Ja obligacje dodatkowo pokazalam ale nie wliczalo sie w to w te minimalne 500k

did you mean you can show your investments account in your name so long as they see you have the min requirement for DTV? In US, a regular bank is only for cash deposits. No bonds or stock assets are allowed.

yes, that was the case for me. I showed my bonds as an extra

thanks Marta. Some responses and even Thai DTV website stated only Bank accounts would be accepted.

I think you might be misunderstanding what I said. I said I showed my bonds as an extra step, to show that I have more than the required 500k. I showed the 500k in a normal checking account AND a printout of my bonds statement ☺️

Term deposits are not normally acceptable. You need the money in instantly accessible bank account

I can close the term deposit at any time

Yes, it's a deposit I can terminate with a single click in the mobile app, and the funds are returned to my account. It's a standard 3-month bank deposit. If I terminate it early, the entire capital is returned to me.

Anonymous participant I'm guessing there is some sort of penalty such as losing interest but it should work if you explain it

exactly, I simply have no profit. I only receive capital.

Anonieme deelnemer That means there is a penalty, so it is not free.

You can always ask if they accept.

If they accept they should also accept stock accounts, because you can sell stock also with a single click if you want.

If I were you I would not take risks and just put the money on a direct acces account.

penalty is the interest you haven't received yet, the principal is guaranteed and that's the number on the statement. Immigration in Thailand usually accept these type of accounts too, the money is instantly accessible and the only penalty is interest.
Luit *****************
Mr 5 Bank Accounts It just might work, but also chances it does not work, just because it is not exactly what they ask for, so you are taking a risk.

stocks there is a risk of capital loss, it's a fundamentally different thing. This is a bank account with no risk of capital loss. That you may forfeit interest on matters why? They say they want a bank account. This is a bank account.
Luit *****************
Mr 5 Bank Accounts No need to discuss this, the instructions are clear and maybe some embassies accept, but certainly a lot don't accept.

When it is just one click to transfer to a normal direct accessible account I would not take any risk.
