I have an O-A visa. Does anyone know how soon we need to transfer the funds in the bank? Like as soon as I get there?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The transfer of funds for the O-A visa is not required immediately upon arrival. You need to keep the funds in your bank account for at least two months prior to applying for a visa extension. This applies only when you are looking to extend your visa for a second or third year. For the first year, once you enter Thailand with the O-A visa, you do not need to have the funds ready until two months before your extension application for subsequent years.

You can get two years out of you O-A as it is multi-entry. You don’t need any funds until two months before your extension application for year three. B800K.

If you leave Thailand and come back before the day your visa enter before date you can get nearly 2 years out of this visa. You then only have to have the money in the bank 2 months before that visa expires.

...that permission to stay expires. The visa will be expired in the second year.

I am under the impression that I have to transfer $400,000 Thai baht into a bank once I get there.

I assume you are meaning for applying for a renewal. If so you need to have funds seasoned for 2 months when applying for the year extension.
