TLDR : Answer Summary
You can submit the Digital incoming online form up to 3 days before your arrival in Thailand, with options available for today, tomorrow, 2 days away, and 3 days away. It is also possible to fill out the form upon arrival at the airport if necessary, and you will receive immediate confirmation once submitted.
‘Within’ 3 days of arrival so 72 hours before you arrive up to and including at Arrival counter in Thailand

You can donut from 3 days before travel until day of travel. If you haven’t done it before travel it can be done from a smartphone in the airport. You receive immediate confirmation
QLD , they asked to see my DTAC , I'm not sure what would have happened if I didn't have it , I know you can fill it out at airport in Bangkok so that's no a problem or even do it on your phone on the way to immigration if you have internet so not sure if they would stop you leaving Australia without it , dont think they can
You cannot do it more than 3 days before arrival. When you go into the form and try to select arrival date, the only options available to you will be today, tomorrow, 2 days away and 3 days away.
