🚆 Entering Thailand with DTV Incident

I entered Thailand by train from Vientiane to Bangkok, crossing at the Nong Khai border.

I handed over my passport along with a printed copy of my DTV visa to the Immigration Officer. The officer appeared to be in a hurry and initially missed the DTV visa and gave me the standard 60-day entry stamp.

After leaving the queue, I noticed the mistake and immediately went back to the officer and pointed out that I had a DTV.

He checked the visa, corrected the entry, and issued the appropriate 6-month stay stamp.

If you're entering Thailand with a DTV, make sure to check your entry stamp before leaving Immigration.

Your initial application was cancelled because your biodata did not match. That is usually the only reason they cancel an application. Are you sure you handed your DTV visa to the IO? :D

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
