TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are teaching online, your visa application depends on the location of your students. If none of your students are in Thailand, you may apply for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV), which allows for remote work. However, if any students are Thai, you will need a work permit and a visa that allows the issuance of a work permit.

you made me curious so I took a look. He's got TEFL but really can't write in English correctly. So hope he's not teaching anything that requires English as a language.

@Lynnette ******
I’m not native neither fluent, but his “TEFL certificate” must be bought from Temu.

So how does he remain in the country? On 60-day visa exempt? 😂😂😆

@Roberto ********
technically there are zero limits on border entrances either via land sea or air…so just border bounce forever
Andy ************
Jeremy Miller Yes "technically". But smart people get a proper visa which doesn't require the expense of scampering to a land border and an immigration office every 30 or 60 days. Border bouncing does cost money and time

@Roberto ********
yep, like 99% of “digital nomads” do it.
Yvonne ********
@Thaimer *****
and what is with paying taxes? Or do they stay less than 180 days?
Roberto *********
@Yvonne *******
DTV is a tourist visa. Tourists don't pay income tax in Thailand
Yvonne ********
@Roberto ********
Not even if they stay longer than 180 days and generate income from abroad as a digital nomad and bring it into the country?
Roberto *********
@Yvonne *******
On which visa?
Andy ************
@Thaimer *****
Digital Nomads never were the brightest of people, and online teachers are those that just couldn't cut the ice as real teachers! 🤣🤣

Whilst retirees are switching to DTV! 😂😂😂
John **********
Depends on where your students are. If none of them are in Thailand then a DTV. If any are in Thailand you need a work permit and a visa that allows you to hold one
Stuart *********
Are your clients Thai? If so you need a work permit.

If no Thais then you could look at the DTV which allows remote work.
