TLDR : Answer Summary
A retired expat with a Thai partner living together in Europe has multiple visa options. Suggestions include applying for a Non-O visa with multiple entries, particularly if planning to maintain bank finances in their home country. Another option discussed is using visa exemption if traveling every two months. The possibility of a marriage visa is also mentioned, which doesn't require a large bank balance.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES

you can a get multiple entry visa for one year based on marriage. No need to have the 400k in the bank

My vote would be the non OA multiple entry from your home country. Then you can keep your finances in your home bank which is preferred if it generates interest.

Each time you leave you should get a new 1 year stamp for up to 2 years maintaining the insurance requirement.

If you are leaving Thailand every 2 months then you could use visa exemption. Many people in your circumstance are doing this. But I don’t think it’s the right way to do it.

Yes, I suspect so. But I talked with someone who was doing just this (maybe one month on and one month off) just using visa exemptions and had been doing it for 4 years, as had several of his friends. I guess it’s just when will they stop you, which we don’t know.
