My DTV Visa Experience - EU Citizen applied from Malta via Athens, Greece

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share my journey of applying for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) as an EU citizen residing in Malta. I applied for the e-Visa through the Royal Thai Embassy in Athens, Greece, and here’s how it went:

Application Date: December 12, 2024

Documents Submitted:

* Biodata page of my Passport in PDF format.

* Passport Size Photo (taken within the last 6 months as required).

* Document indicating current location - I attached my Maltese residence permit, both front and back on one page.

* Financial evidence: A minimum of 500,000 THB. I transferred the necessary amount last month via Revolut, combining USD and EU accounts. My bank statement from December 1 to December 12 was submitted, no expenses were shown for those dates.

* Employment contract: My new contract from October was signed electronically and clearly states I can work "remotely from any location of their choice".

Process:

After submitting all documents on December 12, I kept checking the status which stayed at "processing document check" until today, December 20, 2024. Finally, I received an email stating my visa has been APPROVED! The best part? No follow-up documents were needed or requested by the embassy.

Tips:

* Make sure your financial documents clearly show that you have the required amount without any discrepancies.

* If you're using an electronic contract, ensure it’s clear and legible, and reflects remote work flexibility.

Good luck to everyone applying! Here's to new adventures in Thailand. Merry Christmas to all! πŸŽ„
