What should I do when my METV expires while in Thailand? Can I renew it or do I have to return home?
Question: What happens/what do I do when my METV expires and I am in Thailand. Do I have to go back to my home country and get another visa? Or can I get another METV in Thailand?
Answer summary
When your Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) expires while you are in Thailand, you cannot obtain another METV within Thailand. You have to return to your home country or apply for a Single Entry Tourist Visa at a Thai Embassy or Consulate in a neighboring country. Renewing or applying for another METV is not possible while you are in Thailand. It is recommended to handle visa matters before the expiration to avoid complications.
