What should I do if my Thailand e-Visa application is pending and I'm worried about my upcoming travel date?
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone in Australia has experienced something similar or has any advice 😭
We are permanent residents, but don’t hold Australian passports yet. Our countries are not visa exempt unfortunately:(
My boyfriend and I applied for our Thailand tourist e-Visas on 5 October through the Thai Consulate in Sydney, Australia. It’s been almost a month now, and both applications are still showing “Pending Document Check”.
My boyfriend submitted both applications. He currently lives and works in NSW but used our Southport, Queensland address because he hadn’t updated his address details since moving. I still live in Queensland.
We’ve since realised that Queensland residents are supposed to apply through the Thai Embassy in Canberra rather than Sydney, so we’re worried this might be causing the delay.
We’re travelling on 25 November, and despite emailing and calling the consulate, we haven’t received any response.
Has anyone in Australia applied through a Thai consulate outside their state’s jurisdiction and still received their visa? Or experienced a similar delay with their Thai e-Visa?
We’re honestly getting a bit stressed with our travel date approaching, so any advice would be really appreciated🙏🏾

I did that mistake also . I applied on the 4 Th of September for a 7 Th of October flight and didn’t receive my visa until the 14 Th of October .
I did a second visa application to sydney and that visa also arrived after check in on the day of our flight .
We had to book a flight out of Thailand within 30 days to be allowed to board our flight ( we do get the 30 day free entry ) .
We are currently in Laos for 5 days and will use our visa to reenter Thailand .

I got visas from both embassies .
Canberra arrived on the 7 Th October mid morning and Sydney’s arrived much later on the 14 Th Oct I think .

By the time I realised I reapplied via Canberra on the 19 Th of September and received visa ( too late ) on the morning of our flight, 7 Th October . it arrived just after we had checked in at Brisbane airport . It was a stressful wait .

OrangeSpinach7073 I also tried to call both embassies and only got hold of someone in Canberra who said bad luck if it doesn’t arrive on time , just change your flight .

I’ve never seen that pop up I always got my Visa’s
Sydney - I lived in Qld for 15 yrs -
Even when I lived in Melbourne and Melbourne Thai embassy still was open - I got Visa’s through Sydney simply because they were reliable and quicker

No experience of how they deal with that. It's not a simple mistake as the 2nd question you get asked in the application is your location and then your provided the options as to where to apply dependent on where exactly you are. I'm also going to guess you hold a Ugandan passport and if so you get additional scrutiny over and above people with Australian passports, adding maybe 5 or 6 additional weeks to the process and potentially a lot of additional document requests.

as an Australian you get 30 days auto on entry. you can apply in country for another 30 if you need to. How long is your trip?
