What should I do if my Soft Power visa application is pending additional document requests?

I applied for soft power. After about 2 weeks of document check pending status, they requested more documents. One was employment letter, I don't know what that has to do with soft power? I work freelance so can't really provide this anyways. The other requested document was bank statement, which I already provided that was well over 500k. Not sure what to do next.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing issues with their Soft Power visa application which is in pending status after two weeks. They have been requested to provide an employment letter, which is challenging since they are a freelancer, and they have already submitted a bank statement with sufficient funds. Various comments from the community suggest how to address these requests, including providing a detailed freelance work letter, supporting client payment evidence through bank statements, and the different requirements of embassies for the same visa type.

Strange, I did with Soft power and no question about employment

it depends on where you apply. Taipei requires SPers have the same docs as workcationers.

Write a letter for yourself. Prove the work you’ve done. Then also provide a list of where your clients are from. Throw them everything so they know you aren’t going to be some budget visitor on an extended visa

Which embassy?

Its really strange that different embassies have different approaches for the same visa type. I just got approved for the DTV soft power category from Manila and they did not ask anything about my current source of income. I'm currently not working and my bank statements were sufficient. Good to know that the document regarding your freelance work was accepted. Good luck to you..

They are wanting to understand how you will be able to support yourself over the lifetime of the visa

Some embassies require employment info for SPers. You can detail your employment in a letter and highlight payments from clients/employer on the bank statement.

They accepted my document about my freelance work, but they didn't accept my bank statements. I have to use 2 banks, one is thai and one is real bank in my home country not Revolut or something. Called them and they said to upload newer statements, even though the ones that I uploaded originally were new at the time of my application.

You can provide a work letter as a freelancer. Simply describe what you do in detail.
