What should I consider when planning a visa run to Penang with a Russian passport?

Hello everyone!

I have Russian passport. In January 2018 and March 2018 got tourist visas in Penang. Flew out in June. Flew back in now with 30 days upon arrival stamp which expires on the 4th January. Planned to go on my land border visa run to Penang again on the 2nd - 3rd of Jan. But now a bit concerned. Will I get one there or is it better to go somewhere else? Land or flying? Please help! Any advice on situation with tourist visa in Penang would be greatly appreciated!

PS: due to questions. I'm doing my diving courses in Thailand. I'm not using and abusing the tourist visa. If I get some freelance work to do I do it. I have income from home but extra cash for beers is always good. When I decide to stay longer than winter period in Thailand and work here I will do my work permit. Thank you for advising me on changing info in my profile. I was stupid enough to think it sounds cool to say I live here while I'm here.
