I am planning to enter Chiang Mai for the first time with a DTV visa.

Is there anything I need to prepare?

Do I need to show my balance or documents again at the airport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Chiang Mai with a DTV visa, it's important to prepare specific documentation. One commenter shared their experience of needing to show an invitation letter from their Muay Thai gym and access their bank account on their phone, as they were interviewed upon arrival. While another commenter noted the scrutiny of flights into Chiang Mai, they suggested opting for a flight to Bangkok and then a domestic flight to Chiang Mai for convenience.

With so few international flights and the apparent scrutiny being applied, not sure why anyone is flying into Chiang Mai. Just fly to Bangkok and if you're living in or wanting to visit Chiang Mai and need to get there quickly, book a separate domestic flight. Besides, nearly all international fares into CNX are way more expensive than flights to Bangkok. I remember comparing EVA Air to Taiwan from CNX, not only do you only have one narrowbody flight a day, unlike the 3-5 daily EVA flights out of BKK but fares were TWICE the price of ex BKK fares.

I've already moved my money elsewhere, but I'm worried there will be problems entering the country.

Read my comment again, carefully. International fares out of CNX are much higher than out of BKK due to far less competition.

I live in Chiang Mai, so I have to go to Chiang Mai. It's cheaper to fly directly to Chiang Mai than to go through Bangkok. But Chiang Mai Airport has more stringent entry requirements than Bangkok.

listen to this man ^^ he is speaking the truth, don’t bother with chiang mai ffs just fly to Bangkok they are an excellent airport and immigration officers are actually monitored (I know this just whatever) you’ll have no issues unless you abused and ED visa or exempt stamps in the past

When I entered CNX it was my first entry ever on DTV. I had to show the invitation letter from my Muay Thai gym and open up my bank account on my phone and they conducted an interview and made me fill out a form
