What is the typical timeline for visa approval in Hanoi after changing to 'pending approval'?

πŸ“hanoi

Update : The visa finally got approved!! βœ…βœ…βœ…

πŸ—“οΈMy timeline πŸ‘‡πŸ»

- 29May : Finished the application almost at midnight

- 30May : "Pending Document Checking 1 "

- 5 June : "Pending Approval 1 "

- 11 June: Visa got approved and received Email

πŸ“ŒTotal working days = 9 days ( I include 2-3June holiday because some people got approved that day too)

Thank you so much to this group that shared a lot of useful information and support!!

------

I would like to know if anybody who apply from Hanoi get approved with more than 5 working days since the status change to "pending approval"

I applied on 29May after office hour then the status changed to "pending document checking" next day 30May

Then 5June status was changed to "pending approval" and no additional documents were requested.

Since the majority of people who post their successful story here got the approval so fast (even they applied after I did mine)

So I just want to know if I should go following up at the embassy or just keep calm and waiting.

TIA.πŸ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shared their successful visa application experience in Hanoi, reporting a total processing time of 9 days from application to approval. They asked if others experienced longer wait times after their status changed to 'pending approval' and received several encouraging responses outlining typical processing times and tips for traveling with the visa.

Thank You for your helpful report πŸ‘

Congratulations πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

Congrats my friend . Told you…. You would get it. If you have the proper paperwork Hanoi is the best place to apply at the moment. I think for you there was a delay because you told them you would travel 3 weeks later. This embassy process aplications 3-5 days once they are submitted. I would just put that you would be traveling back to thailand 5 continous days after that

right now is the best place to go if you want an expedited process. Always check your docs before you apply. If your application is fine they will grant you the visa there .Good luck if you have any questions feel free to ask πŸ™

Congratulations! Do print out your supporting documents especially your e-visa when coming into Thailand. Do also mentally prepare the small chance that they ask some questions about your intention in Thailand and how you will support yourself.

It doesn't happen often but it's good to be prepared if it comes to that. Overall your answers should match your intention of being here (i.e. workation or soft power)

I just got my visa couple of days ago in Hanoi. After pending approval if everything is ok you should have it in 3-5 business days. In your case you are still withing this timeframe. If you dont hear by the end of the week go to the consulate and they will help you if you are in the are of course . Emails do not work in hanoi i tried that

Hi may I know your opinion? Do you think the arrival date to thailand might be the reason why my application has not been approved yet?

I put 16June for arrival date because initially I thought the application take roughly 3 weeks

Anonymous participant could be i put for mine and for my wife application 5 continous days. I applied on the 2nd but the embassy was closed so my application was actually processed on the 3rd and the approval happened on the 8th ( last sunday). For my wife she applied yesterday and we put also the 15th. I really dont think they will prioritize your visa approval if you put a closer day of arrival but the adjudications are done in batches so a bunch of people are approved around the same time. I think if everything is fine with your docs they would have no problem extending you that courtesy. Some guys got their visa on the same day with me on the 8th and they had a applied 2-5 days before me.
