Answer summary

The processing time for COVID extension visas and student visas in Thailand can vary. Generally, in cities like Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Buriram, Phuket, and Chiang Rai, applicants can apply for extensions when they have 45 days or less remaining on their current visa, while other immigration offices may require applications 30 days before the visa expires. It is advisable to check with the local immigration office for specific details regarding processing times.

Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Buriram, Phuket, Chiang Rai and a couple of others all allow people to apply for extensions when they have 45 days or less left on their current stamp. The other immigration offices are 30 days. However, ask your local immigration office for specific details.
