It took 14 business days for the turnaround in Sydney. There was also 1 public holiday in between.
Everything changed yesterday going from pending document check to pending approval. Then 3 hours later I got my approval email (8:30PM).
Big thanks to Tiger Eye for being so helpful and responsive! And everyone in the group for sharing their previous experiences 🎉

TLDR : Answer Summary
A DTV visa application in Australia can take around 14 business days for processing, including any public holidays. The timeline from submission to approval can vary, as illustrated by a recent approval case which progressed from a pending document check to approval within a few hours. Key advice includes printing out the approval email for airline check-in and ensuring correct documentation is presented at Thai immigration.
Anonymous participant 760 Sydney is for NSW. Everyone else has to apply through Canberra. You'll get the option from the first page where they ask you which embassy you're applying to. I can only apply in Sydney since that's where I am and all my proof of location documents are in Sydney.
You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.
Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
Anonymous participant wow 😳 you were VERY lucky to get the DTV visa with only 3 months of Muay Thai training. Chalk that up to the Australian Thai Embassy or Consulates which are known for their friendly treatment for Thai Visas in support of Aussies.
Very grateful and happy! I did have more than the required amount in my bank for the 3 months bank statements I provided. Not sure if that helped. But hope this will be helpful to someone in the future 😁
