What is the process and timeline for obtaining a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand while working remotely from Cambodia?

12.5.2025 - arrived to Phnom Penh

13.5.2025 - submitted visa

Documents submitted

(1) Employment contract (Chinese-English)

(2) Business registration (Chinese-English)

(3) Recommendation letter to work remotely from Thailand signed by MD (English)

(4) National ID of MD (Chinese)

(5) 3-months salary slips (in RMB)

(6) Bank statement (3 months, >500,000 THB in only one month)

14.5.2025 - Requested document - Cambodia entry stamp

15.5.2025 - Pending approval

7.6.2025 - Follow-up email sent to embassy mentioning Cambodia TR visa about to expire

9.6.2025 - Visa approved

Total days - 28 days

Total working days from Pending approval - 15 days

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
