What is the timeline and experience for obtaining a DTV visa in Vientiane?

Adding an additional data point for Vientiane — hope it's useful!

*Timeline *

8/3: Submitted my application through FITFAC's agent.

8/4: Paid the fee at the Thai Embassy. Maybe a 30 minute wait, I got there 15 minutes after open.

8/5: Request for additional documentation. The embassy wanted a screenshot of my banking application's front page with my name and the funds, as well as a photo of the physical ATM card associated with the account. Given this was a savings account, I had no card, but my agent helped draft a letter explaining the situation in lieu of the card. Submitted the additional documentation on the same day.

8/9: Approved. No interview.

*Additional Thoughts*

* I didn't know weekend approvals were possible. I already made plans to go to Luang Prabang on Monday that I otherwise would not have made. In retrospect, I would get to Vientiane, pay the fee, and leave. If you get an interview, it seems to be scheduled out multiple days out, so you can always come back to Vientiane. It's not a very exciting city, and I regret spending my whole week here.

* I had significantly more funds in my account than required for the three month period. Not sure if that helped my odds of not getting an interview.

* I set my date of intended entry for Thailand to a fairly aggressive one week out (8/10). Not sure if that helped with a quicker approval or not.
