What is the experience of applying for a DTV visa from Romania as a dual citizen?

Hey! I want to return the favor and post my experience applying for DTV visa (I quietly read the posts in here and reddit and then did my thing).

I am a dual citizen (Romanian native + USA), currently in Romania and I applied online based on the Romanian passport + freelance work that I've been doing for the past 5y.

I applied on August 4 and on August 10 I got approved.

My work is mainly for US companies, as a contractor. I merged work related documents into 1: my contractor agreement from 5y ago when I started working with this one company that I still work with, my latest annual review that also states my increased hourly pay rate, and a letter the CFO wrote saying that I have been working with the company since x year, and that I am allowed to work from anywhere, and that they are aware of my intention of working from Thailand and that'k ok with them.

Then, I also merged together money related documents into 1 pdf: my HYSA account screenshot that showed 1 month worth of transactions (and current funds of like $15,300) and account info to show my name on it + 1040 form that shows my total income for 2024.

I was happy the process was so quick and nothing extra was required. The most surprised I was that the email with the announcement and the evisa came on a Sunday afternoon. Yay!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A dual citizen (Romanian and USA) shares their positive experience applying for a DTV visa online while residing in Romania. They submitted the application on August 4 and received approval by August 10. The applicant combined work-related and financial documents, including a contractor agreement and an annual review, to demonstrate their freelance work for US companies. They were pleasantly surprised by the swift process and the email notification received on a Sunday. Commenters congratulated the applicant and advised them to print their evisa for travel.

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
