Hello everyone,

I am seriously considering applying for the 10-year Thailand Privilege Visa and would like to hear from people who have already gone through the process.

If you currently hold this visa or have held it in the past, would you mind sharing your experience?

Was the application process smooth?Have you encountered any unexpected problems or limitations?Do you feel the visa has been worth the cost?If you could make the decision again, would you still choose this visa?I would appreciate any honest feedback, both positive and negative. Thank you.
Answer summary
The Thailand Privilege Visa, also known as the 10-year visa, appears to be a favorable option for many expats, as indicated by shared experiences. Users highlight an easy application process, stability, and benefits such as access to Thai banking and priority immigration services. While some express concerns regarding the visa's cost, those who can afford it recommend the visa for its peace of mind and avoidance of annual renewals associated with other visa types. Overall, feedback suggests that it is worth considering, especially for individuals under 50 who are not eligible for a retirement visa.

20 years 1mil baht, super happy with it. It’s a stronger, more stable visa option than, say, the DTV. Allows for Thai banking. Priority immigration lane and and lounge access when flying. Theres other perks and benefits as well. Great option for those who aren’t yet 50 and cant get a retirement visa. The application process, as well as the extension process, was generally quite easy. The price seems to be the biggest issue for most, but if paying for it won’t negatively affect your lifestyle, then I’d highly recommend it. It’s not quite as strong as the LTR but it’s also a lot easier to get. It’s great peace of mind in general.

Got mine at the old pricing, so 1 million baht for 20 years or 50,000 per year. Living in Isaan the bells and whistles didn't interest me although the free Limo for the first 5 years was nice. Application was easy, although communication was limited - but that seems to be the same with most processes in Thailand.

At the time I had the cash spare so paying for it didn't affect my lifestyle.

The visa itself has been great, no hassles with immigration, no problem opening bank accounts and as I leave the country several times a year no annual renewals etc. So many of the friends I have made dread their annual extension and the moving goalposts they encounter, none of that for me.

Something I really enjoy is the lounge access when departing Thailand, it's one of the benefits I appreciate.

The only negative I hear from people is the cost, but I suppose that's relative to how one wishes to spend their money.

If you can’t qualify for LTR, the Thai privilege is a great visa, easy application process.

It comes down to how much value you get out of living in Thailand. Whether in terms of low cost of living, great access to access, low or no tax and full freedom of movement in and out of Thailand.
