Let this be a warning to anyone who is curious: Do not apply for your DTV in Spain.

Just don't.

I'm a legal resident here who applied over a month ago and I still have not gotten a response. Now I have to leave Spain for a family emergency, and I'm basically begging the embassy to give me an update on the additional materials they requested. If you have the option, apply somewhere else, anywhere else. The stress alone makes me want to scream.

Some European embassady take 5 weeks ( Belgium for example ). I think if you annoy them in the process , it may be longer.

Anonymous participant 113 all the resources I found about the Spanish embassy said it would take 4 weeks max, but they didn’t even notify me of the additional documents they needed until I followed up with them (close to the 5 week mark). I really hope that it won’t take months to get this visa but it’s sounding like Europe is not the place to apply for the DTV at all 😔

well it has something to do with Spain. The embassy is in Madrid.

The thing is foreigner are coming to Spain to work and behave like Spanish.

Even my Dutch friend where always coming late when I was living in Barcelona.

After living back in Holland again, the Spanish people are suddenly more punctual. And came on time for appointments

So yeah it’s the country.

I'm Spanish and I understand what you are saying but in this case it doesn't make any sense to blame Spain when it's the Thai's Spanish embassy lol
