FYI anyone planning to leave UK on a tourist visa after 8th march.

From gov website. I’ve tried searching for what the declaration form might ask for specifically but i can’t find any info yet..

just waiting to board now, never asked for any reason as to why I’m travelling, tourist visa is no problem, I’ve walked past a few border force and police and nobody’s asked for my travel declaration form which I have just incase.

Also, my brother found that deep into the gov website whilst searching for something else and it wasn’t mentioned by Boz so how will people even know to fill in the stupid form! Hopefully it won’t materialise... 😬

I hear you. I won’t lie this has stressed me out a bit, but let’s stay positive. Ultimately what they don’t want is people going on 1-2 week holidays, so this is another deterrent against that. If you are going long term it should be fine I think. I hope!

yes on March 18th. I’d say I have genuine reasons but god knows what they’ll want as proof

let’s wait and see, I expect (hope) this will be some sort of self declaration form stating your reason to travel. I doubt they have the manpower and resource to commit to doing much more. I wrote to the FCDO weeks ago about declaring reasons for essential travel and they provided no help whatsoever.

Don’t tell them your going on a holiday. They can’t actually stop you from leaving the country. If there are flights out you can leave.

Until they ban all incoming and exiting flights you can still leave.
