What happens to your DTV when switching to a Non-Immigrant B visa in Thailand?

Does anyone know what happens when you switch from DTV soft power to Non-Immigrant B visa? When you get the B visa does the DTV become cancelled? I'm thinking of attending some classes but may want to teach for a year also.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When switching from a DTV soft power visa to a Non-Immigrant B visa for teaching, the DTV visa will typically be automatically cancelled. It is important to confirm with your local immigration office, as you may need to exit the country and re-enter to properly activate the Non-B visa.

Not DTV but my O had to be cancelled before a B was issued. Went to Singapore for the B.

You can't hold two visas at the same time. If you wish to teach, you'll need to keep your Non-B with work permit and cancel your DTV. It is usually automatic but I would double check that with your immigration office. You may need to go out/in to activate the Non-B.
