What does 'vertical position' mean for a DTV visa photo and how should I take the photo of my passport?

Hello, I am currently applying for a DTV visa in Vientiane. I would like to ask what “vertical position” means and how I should take the photo. I’m a bit confused. Could someone kindly demonstrate? Does this mean I need to photograph the entire passport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about the meaning of 'vertical position' in the context of submitting a photo for a DTV visa in Vientiane. The community suggests that the photo should depict the bio data page of the passport in a vertical alignment, i.e., with the page opened left to right and not top to bottom. Multiple users provide clarity, emphasizing that it should be read upright without tilting. One suggests covering all bases by providing both orientations.

Logically that seems correct but vertical to me would mean the opposite

Scan or take a picture of your passport with the bio data page open.

Ensure that it is vertically aligned - when you open it on a computer you can read it without tilting your head or rotating the photo.

It's under the heading of biodata page, so send the biodata page. I'm guessing that they want it with the passport opened left to right and not top to bottom.
