What does the status 'Consideration by Government Agencies' mean for my LTR-Pensioner Visa application in Thailand?

Hello All. On 14 October, I applied for LTR-Pensioner Visa from my home in USA. On 23 November,BOI contacted me asking for most recent Income Tax Return. I provided documents and was then told all appropriate paperwork and documents were in order and application was now being forwarded to supervisor for review. My status on their website still showed pending until today, 10 December, and now reads, "Consideration by Government Agencies". So for those in the know and/or have completed the entire process, can you help me understand this new Status? As a side note I arrived in Bangkok yesterday, 9 December on 45 Day Tourist Exempt Stamp. I orginially had a 60 EVisa from LA Thai Consulate but cancelled it on arrival at BKK as the woman at BOI said I could not have 2 Active Visas on my passport at the same time if my intention was to complete the process at One Stop Service Center. No issues with IO on arrival, she canceled and gave 45 day stamp. Hoping for answer to the status change. Thank you all in advance.

I went from pending to processing last week. They asked for more passport photos. Last weekend was a long weekend so I am expecting it to take more time. But calling before New Year seems like an option.

I had the same 'status change', 2 weeks later received an email to check my BOI account, and there was the approval letter. I think they check with Police and other immigration sections. Remember to print the Thai copy of your approval letter. When you get the LTR visa, they'll cancel your existing visa, and start the 5 + 5 years from the date of the letter.

that’s very helpful.

the BOI person was wrong, you could have easily entered on that 60 day tourist visa (it was a single entry and would have been USED when you came in so you wouldn't have had two active visas πŸ˜• Dunno what she was talking about. πŸ™

They are pretty backlogged on the processing, but at least the status did progress.

These are the two people who seem to be doing ALL the LTR's

contact them to see what's what.

thanks. Just going by what she said. No harm no foul if they can get all this finished in next 44 days now, without having to pay 1900 to extend.

start calling every day when you have 2 weeks left. And pay special attention to holidays. The special 3 day APEC holiday in Bangkok almost ruined my chances of getting my visa before leaving Bangkok.

I never got any action until I picked up the phone and called so I think that's really the only/best option. But they probably won't feel any sense of urgency until the visa exempt is running out of time or some other reason like leaving Bangkok comes up. I never saw my status update to the second status Op indicated though.
