Hi everyone. What does “Processing pending document check (1) mean?

They’ve checked 1 of my documents with more to go?

Or they need 1 more document from me?

How many document checks are there in total to complete the process and get a decision?

🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The phrase 'Processing pending document check (1)' indicates that one of your documents is currently being reviewed as part of the visa application process. It usually does not suggest that additional documents are required from you at this stage. The counting does not specifically represent a certain number of checks but is rather an internal reference for the embassy staff handling your application. After initial checks, your application may advance to a more senior officer for approval.

In simple English it means you just need to wait for an unspecified time.

Expect 14 days turnaround or more, I'm in the same boat and at day 12 now.
Jeremy ******
First stage once documents checked goes to a more senior person for sign off, shows as pending approval. Normally moves from doc check to pending approval in about 3 -4 days depending which embassy and the time of year

It means you have 1application undergoing document check

what visa did you apply for? My METV took a month and a day to be approved and was suggested by someone it could have been intentionally delayed since that visa starts the day it’s issued, not when you use it.

I reached out to my embassies fb page on messenger for peace of mind and had it within a couple days

They didn't like my photo and said I needed to go to my bank to get my bank statements stamped (not easy when most high street banks have closed). Anyway I managed to do it all and submitted it 14 days ago, but still says pending. As I am a pensioner and not very internet savvy I am getting a little worried as I fly soon. So I totally understand your worries, fingers crossed for both of us.

Lol it means your papers are going through the process and someone will be checking your documents next. Unless they ask for more paperwork, there is only one document check

Real answer: The (1) is an internal reference to which officer it's assigned to. In many embassies there is only 1 person. Then it goes on to another person Pending Approval, who may also be officer number 1 for that role (or sometimes you get contacted asking for more paperwork). The specific number doesn't mean anything for you, don't worry about it.
