Does anyone know what documents are accepted when applying to renew a British passport when you are on an ED visa?

It says it’s I need something for proof of address by government or employer. My bills come in the owners name so no letter from government and no employer to use.

Support of learning from Muay Thai gym, can I use a copy of the application for ED visa extension papers -it has my address handwritten on?

Anyone done this recently?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on renewing a British passport while on an Education (ED) visa in Thailand, specifically regarding proof of address documentation. They mention challenges in providing official proof since their bills are in the property owner's name and they lack an employer. Suggestions from the community include using a support letter from their Muay Thai gym, obtaining confirmation from their school on headed paper, or getting a housing contract notarized. Ultimately, the user resorted to a letter from the gym, and it appears they submitted the application successfully.

Thanks everyone. Yeah I saw that Todd but I needed one thing with picture proof (old passport) and something with address which I was struggling for. I made a dash to the Muay Thai gym and had them write me a letter to say I was training there and put my address on it. Just put the application in and it seems ok 🤞 and they have sent the application off.

They didn’t send my original passport off and just the colour copies which I thought was strange. I was told they would send it off by someone that recently had it done 🤔

Go straight away and they will transfer your visa into your new passport . . You will receive a letter back with your new passport . . Just hand this to immigration

I guess it’s in case the police ask to see your passport.

Yes I heard it’s taking about 2 weeks which is good. I just extended at immigration yesterday and wanted to get it sent off today in case because I only get 60 day extensions now.

Once I get my new passport do I need to go to immigration again to transfer over the visa or wait until I need my next extension?

They don't send off your passport :/ BUT you can't travel internationally with the old one because it's canceled as soon as you submit your application.

Most people are getting their new passports back within 10 to 14 days from VFS Global

The people you need to be asking are VFS Global (the company that is contracted with the UK consulate to supply passports to people in thailand). They usually are pretty good about it BUT you are gonna hafta show something with your address on it here.

you already worked thru this weblink that explains how to do it right?
