What documents do I need to provide for a DTV visa application through a Muay Thai gym in Taipei?

UPDATE:

With the help from my gym, my visa has been approved.

It turns out that they ask for the 5 star gym certification from every Muay Thai DTV applicant. And they are VERY picky with all other supporting documents too. I would recommend not doing it in Taipei if you can do it elsewhere.

Applying DTV through Muay in Taipei. They are asking further documents I don’t know how to provide, can anyone kindly advice thanks.

In my application I stated that I’ve retired but they are asking for proof of employment. I have submitted proof that I still have income and they’ve accepted that.

My Muay Thai gym is telling me it’s impossible to get the letter. The gym is registered with the sports authority of Thailand.

How can I get around these two? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat applying for a DTV visa through a Muay Thai gym in Taipei shared their experience of having their visa approved after significant difficulty with documentation. They highlighted that the gym must provide a 5-star certification along with other specific documents. Some commenters noted the complexities and challenges faced during the application, suggesting that fitness gyms might not always have the necessary certifications. Others mentioned that retired applicants could face extra scrutiny, leading to potential difficulties in obtaining the visa.

the short answer is don’t to it! Do it somewhere else if you can. Taipei is picky with ALL documents.

Anonymous participant i think some countries won’t care, like Vietnam, and especially from your name I assume you are not Taiwanese. You can DM me your questions if you like I will try to answer them if I can.
Kyle **********
Anonymous participant the problem is that I live in taipei and it would sound way more suspicious to go to a 3rd country to apply for the DTV. dm me if u don't mind

Bro come down i just applied soft power and i got same email don't worry they just want to see any income for you so you can stay in Thailand looks like it's automated email now for everyone apply through soft power

I sent them that i have family business and 2 apartments i rent in my country and try to find any transactions for that

Write small letter 3 line to explain with photos for the proof of income and merge them pdf and upload after this email they answer me with approval next week I want to tell you i just arrived Thailand from one hour

@Mohamed ****************
did you apply in taipei?

My thought is they prefer retired people wishing to stay an extended time to apply for the retirement visa. They'll make it hard on you to try to do otherwise.

The Gym only needs to write its own letter, with company registration number and a registration under the Sports Authority of Thailand.

You yourself have to ask your employer, or if you are self employed write the letter yourself.

well we did more than that and it's not been accepted so...

Participating gyms are allowed to have DTV students. That’s what I gathered so far but not 100%. You could check with your gym for that.

I believe that they are getting strict since more and more senior citizens are applying for muay thai classes which has become a bit suspicious... End of the game

the first DTV we did and as I understand the very first muay thai DTV was for a married couple, 79 and 91 years old.... I got to admit I am surprised that 8 months later they are still attending class 2 x a week
Kyle **********
Muay Thai Fever Gym no offence but everyone knows that 90% of those people applying for soft powers just do that for the visa. The same happened for those language schools back in the days. Your gym itself got over 300 folks who applied for it and that has probably started being suspicious

Agree 💯 I understand the owners who wish to defend their activities but when having that amount of applicants, we all know that most aren't following the classes or do so very rarely.
Kyle **********
Anonymous participant 370 they believe they've gotten the hen with the golden egg. We all know how things work in thailand, the same happened to those language centers back 10yrs ago, at that time every long term tourist had an ED visa till the time that the government went to check how many they were really attendend classes and they shut down dozens of school. There were school in touristic area that despite being made of 2 small classrooms enrolled hundreds of students and that made things hard for everyone. I'm not saying this gym is a scam by any chance, I really believe they are great but having too many students might lead to troubles....

Not suspicious. People in good health can train in Muay Thai even if they're older. That stated, remember, it's Thailand, where some people believe that once you hit 50, you're too old to drive and where I've seen 60 year Olds who look like they're 85 and can barely walk.
Luit *****************
Maybe the embassy is seeking reasons to not approve a visa because they think retired people don't follow Muay Thai training.

The heavy misuse of DTV might make the procedures more strict.

When retired, the non-o visa might be the more logical visa.

@Luit ****************
we have a 91 year old with a dtv and he attends class regularly. The thai government have an agenda that muay thai is for everyone, young and old, male or female

Muay Thai Fever Gym I agree with you, that is why I say "might"

It's my gym muay thai fever. We supply sports authority certification, ministry of education certification, board of boxing sport A License ( the highest coach certification available ) and Ltd company certification

Maybe the gyms mentioned above don't have all these certificates

But this embassy wants a personal letter confirming the applicant name from the sports minister. ( may as well ask for a letter from the king)

This happened to us once before in Cambodia and we refunded the client. Because it's basically asking for the impossible.

Tapei and phon phen now unusable as embassys for any muay thai gym.

If you name drop a gym can you confirm the sports minister will write individual letters for each client?

It's crazy

I've told this applicant I will refund the fee,we are a respectable and honest gym. This will be our 2nd failure in 300 applicants

I'm sad and sorry for our customer.

Seems the gym may have not included all the appropriate information needed

@Aaron ****
sports authority certification, ministry of education certification, board of boxing sport A License, Ltd company certification very few gyms have these qualifications

The embassy wants a personal letter from the sports minister... that's too much
Aaron *****
Muay Thai Fever Gym I completely understand

Muay Thai Fever Gym

You don’t understand ? It’s a way to make this visa impossible to get anymore … Crystal clear message … Taipei is requesting it now. More to come .
Muay ******************
@Erik ******
I'm beginning to understand yea... so another embassy bites the dust
Anonymous ******************
Upload a pension letter and the gyms certificate of registration with the sports authority
Muay ******************
Anonymous participant 430 of course ... we supplied all that plus every governing body of muay thai certification. They asked for a personal letter from the sports minister though. That's too much even for us
Calvin ******
Which gym is it you’re applying thru? They should be able to supply all the documents you need….
Muay ******************
@Calvin *****
we supplied board of boxing sport A License, sports authority regisration, ministry of education instructors certification, Ltd company certification.... more than most gyms have.... what other certification do you suggest we supply?
Calvin ******
Muay Thai Fever Gym if you’ve supplied everything that would normally be requested, the applicant has only one option which is to try application from alternative embassy. If that fails, another one bites the dust.

But please appreciate my comment was made on the basis of the information made available at the time.
Calvin ******
Muay Thai Fever Gym relax… the request in the screenshot says “letter from relevant organisations” it doesn’t say a personal letter confirming the applicant name from the sports minister as you answered in your further comment on this page lol.
