How was your experience obtaining the DTV visa for Muay Thai training in Thailand?

Approved from Sydney Consulate for Soft Power Muay Thai from Tiger Eye Bkk (highly recommend),

Nationality - British

Approved in 9 working days

Proof of Balance over 500k equivalent in gbp, no 6 months bank statements required, exchange rate on day also attached

Length of Muay Thai booking : 1 month unlimited

Also had a problem with holiday visa when I arrived in Thailand in December due to being there 6 months this year already as a tourist so I was sent back to Australia, this didn’t seem to affect applying for DTV. Maybe different at the boarder but I was told to go and get a proper visa if I wanted to stay in Thailand so hopefully they will accept.

Thanks to everyone in this group for all your help.

If anyone has any questions I would be happy to answer

TLDR : Answer Summary
A British national shares their experience in obtaining a DTV visa to pursue a month of unlimited Muay Thai training at Tiger Eye Bkk. The visa approval came through the Sydney Consulate in just 9 working days, aided by proof of sufficient bank balance without the need for six months of bank statements. Despite prior issues with a holiday visa after exceeding a six-month tourist stay, the DTV application seemed unaffected. The community comments express congratulations, seek details about the application process, and inquire about the gym's offerings.

You say length of Muay Thai booking 1 month. Is this what your letter says? If I’m not wrong shouldn’t it be 6 months?

my letter says 1 months, I think it depends where you are. Tiger Eye said this should be sufficient, honestly this did make me slightly nervous in the process

Congrats on the DTV. Regarding the stop in December we are seeing more of these regarding long term stays on tourist or visa exempt.

I was also applying at this gym a few days go for 1-month membership. May I ask what employment did you choose? I chose "freelance" and hopefully it is ok for soft power route

Anonymous participant 561 when you choose Soft Power, on the visa it says employment is prohibited, if you want to use the remote work the option it is different

Anonymous participant I’m not sure this employment section matters as it does not imply that you will keep the position whilst in Thailand
Greg ********
Anonymous participant "Employment Prohibited" is regarding Employment in Thailand.

Anonymous participant I chose soft power category to do Muay Thai. I am not going to do any employment with a Thai entity. I work freelance but no contract and not consistent so I cannot go for the workation route. Just wondering what employment did you choose when applying the soft power route?
John **********
Anonymous participant it says that for the workation category too. Means you can't work for a Thai entity

What information was provided to you from the gym, that you submitted to the application? And how do you know what courses will be accepted before you apply? Thanks for any help on this

@Sam ****
provided the letter of intent, all the company documents including Work visa of Director and their business licence, I used a program to combine the pdfs together so the consulate wouldn’t ask for additional info. Tiger eye have done over 100 applications so they really know what they are doing

Going to be a crowded gym.
