What documents do I need to present when entering Thailand on a 60-day visa exemption?

My partner and I are planning to enter Thailand using the 60 day visa exemption (uk). Do we need to prove anything to get to be granted that?

I’m aware that we will need to show onward travel and we are planning to use one of the ticket generator websites for that as we are unsure when (obviously within the 60/90days) we are going to do that. Do we need to provide anything else, and if so which documents will we need?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand with a 60-day visa exemption as UK passport holders, you will primarily need your passport. Although it's not common, you may be asked to present proof of funds (20,000 baht or equivalent in major currency), proof of onward travel within 60 days, and proof of accommodation for at least your first few nights in Thailand. It's advisable to have these documents on hand even if they are rarely requested.

Yes, you need to prove that you’re a UK passport holder. This can be done by providing a UK passport for inspection.

No, but technically/legally you may get asked for the “3 proofs”. Although it rarely happens

- Return ticket within 60 days (departing airline may ask)

- 20k baht equivalent in CASH (can be in Eur, GBP, usd etc)

- first 3 nights accommodation booking

Personally I always bring to be safe, realistically they typically ask only when they want to find a reason to deny entry (looking dodgy etc). But if the immigration officer has a bad day….

There are the things that you CAN be asked for, but usually will not be, at least by immigration:

1) Proof of funds (20,000 baht or equivalent in another major currency IN CASH ONLY)

2) Proof of onward travel (a ticket out of Thailand within 60 days)

3) Proof of lodging (at least a few nights hotel reservation

Normally for #2 it will be your airline that asks for this and might not let you board your flight without it.

For Thai immigration you just need your passport but in theory they can ask to see 20k baht (or equivalent in a major currency), accommodation booking and ticket out but they rarely do
