Just got my 60 day visa from Liverpool, do I still need my exit flight and £600 in cash to pass through immigration at Suvarnabhumi airport.

I have flown in to Thailand (from China) three times since Oct and the only thing I've been asked for is prove of a return or onward flight when checking in.

Some people have to much money and love to wast it.

Buy tickets and throw them in the bin, but be aware:

You are allowed to be 60 days inside Thailand, you may apply for a 30 day Extension of Stay, meaning within 90 days you MUST leave and unless you plan walking from your hotel to the border, you need a ticket to leave Thailand. But that is simple thinking of a cheap charlie.

So as to not waste your time or money, I've yet to read of an airline operating from the UK and particularly out of Heathrow, that are interested in Bus tickets. If they ask, they want flights that can be verified on a computer terminal.

. Yes I agree. Heathrow every time want to see onward flight irrespective of airline. The airline can be saddled with the cost of returning you if you're denied entry so they like hard evidence.

not the UK but Dublin on Qatar 3 weeks ago were fine with my bus ticket to Penang.

. You can book a more expensive flexible onward flight. In that way when you cancel you get full refund.

Given your (lack of) prior history in Thailand, I expect you would not be asked for the triple proofs before you're allowed to enter (20K THB IN CASH, ticket out of Thailand, and hotel booking).

I recommend contacting your airline company to confirm they will accept a one way ticket. Some airline companies do not allow people to board the plane without a round trip ticket or other proof of leaving Thailand.

Technically yes and yes (even though you're unlikely to be asked for it, you must have it just in case. Oh, also proof of accommodation.

All depends on your previous entry history. Anyone could be asked. Very very few are. If they think you’re trying to milk the tourist (or visa exempt) system then you may well be asked. If you have no prior history of back to back entries then you probably won’t be. No one can predict precisely as it’s up to the immigration officer you hand your passport to.

thanks Stuart, I have a 30 day visa exempt from 2 years ago. I was told at the Embassy I didn't need proof of onward travel but think it's wise to spend a small amount on a bus ticket out.
